Itineraries

Day 1

Pickup Manali / Rohtang Pass / Jispa

Start your overland journey early morning and drive to Keylong. This high altitude road beyond the great Himalayan range connects the densely fertile and green Kullu valley to the stark barren region of Ladakh. The drive starts at Manali slowly winding up mountain roads till Rohtang Pass at 3,950 M which connects the Kullu to the Lahaul valley. On entering the Lahaul valley we see a distinct change with the Hindu influence being replaced with the Buddhist religion. EnrouteTandi, confluence of Chandra Bhaga (Chenab) River. Lunch at Keylong. After lunch drive to Jispa, dinner and overnight stay in Hotel.

Day 2

Sarchu / Leh

After early breakfast leave for Leh, enrouteSarchu drive of 3 hrs, by crossing Deepak Tal &Suraj Tal (known as origin of Bhaga River) and Cross Baralacha Pass (16020 ft) Reach Sarchu. After Sarchu we will cross a number of passes. Climb up the Gatta Loops, a series of 21 hairpin bends carved into the mountainside and then after descending once again wind your way up the Lachung La pass (4985 M above sea level). Lunch break at Pang. After Lunch pass through SkyangchuThang (Biggest and Highest Plateau on Earth on Stretch of 42 Kms), Tanglang La Pass 17,585 ft, second highest motorable road in the world, after climbing down drive along the banks of Indus river & Indus Valley. Arrive at Leh by evening, dinner and overnight stay in Hotel.

Day 3

Shaam Valley

After breakfast you drive downstream along the River Indus on Leh – Kargil Highway. Day 4

Nubra Valley Via Khardungla Pass

Post breakfast drive to Nubra Valley. The road journey from Leh to Nubra Valley passes over Khardung La (The Highest Motorable Road In The World) at 5,602 Mtrs / 18,390 Ft, around 39 km from Leh. From the pass, one can see all the way south over the Indus valley to seemingly endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range, and north to the giants of the Saser massif. Nubra Valley is popularly known as Ldumra or the valley of flowers. It is situated in the north of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. The average altitude of the valley is 10,000 Ft. above sea level. Upon arrival in Nubra Valley check in at our Camp / Hotel for Overnight stay. In the evening you can walk around the tiny villages to see how the locals live in this part of the world. Overnight Stay

Day 5

Pangong Lake Vis Shayok River

After an early breakfast we check out from the Camp and drive to Hunder where you have opportunity to ride on a bacterian camel double humped (On Direct payment Basis) amidst the sand dunes of this high altitude desert with snow capped mountains on the horizon. Between Hunder and Diskit you come across sand dunes besides the road. Seen in isolation you could well be amongst the sand dunes of the Thar Desert in Rajasthan. It is indeed a strange sight since immediately on the left of the road are rocky mountains that characterize the Ladakhi landscape and in the distance can be seen snow-capped mountains. Later drive towards Pangong Lake by Shyok On the way, you have amazing view of charming villages, beautiful mountains, animals like Yaks, nomads and beautiful valley of Changthang. Arrive at Lake, the Lake is 136 kms long and 5 kms wide, 47% of this lake is in India and rest is in Tibet. The view of lake is spectacular and breathtaking. Enjoy the unforgettable scenery beauty of Lake and the voice of Himalayan migrant birds. Evening free for leisure, overnight stay in Camp.

Day 6

Leh Via Changla Pass

Early Morning enjoy the picturesque view of sun rise on Lake, after breakfast drive back to Leh by Crossing Chang-la pass (The world's third highest motorable road 5360 m) on the way visit Thiksey village, visit Thiksey monastery and drive to Shey Village to visit Shey Palace and Gompa. Continue drive to Hemis Monastery to visit one of the most famous monasteries of Ladakh. Later on the way back to Leh get down at the Sindhu Ghat for Sindhu Darshan and walk along the river, also visit 3 Idoits School campus. Overnight stay in Hotel at Leh.

Day 7

Sarchu

After an early breakfast we check out from the hotel and drive to Sarchu via through Tanglang La Pass 17,585ft world second highest motorable road. At Pang you can stop for lunch and continue driving to Lachungla pass, which is at a height of 5065 mts. Upon arrival in Sarchu we check in at our Camp for overnight. It will also be the coldest night during the whole tour.

Day 8

Manali

Today we start our journey to Manali via Baralacha Pass (4890m),Keylong (3350 m) &Rohtang Pass (3978 m). Manali, Located in the most charming and beautiful Kullu valley spreads out its charm on either side of river Beas. Kullu was once known as Kulanthpitha, which means the end of the habitable world. Beyond rose the forbidding heights of the Greater Himalayas, and by the banks of the shining river Beas, lay the fabled 'Silver Valley'. The valley runs north to south of Beas River and is 80 kms. Long and about 2 kms wide. Upon arrival at Manali drop at Manali Bus Station for your onward destination with sweet holiday memories.
